The Aftermath Of The Presidential Media Chat, See Nigerians reactions

Presidential Media Chat

The much-awaited presidential media chat took place in Abuja on May 4, 2014, Sunday.

About 2.5 months passed from the 6th edition of the similar talk. Many events happened in Nigeria, and tons of yet-to-be answered questions have emerged. No wonder expectations for Sunday’s dialogue with the president were big.
In anticipation of the 7th edition of the media chat, journalists have shortlisted 15 ‘MUST reply’ questions for President Jonathan. Most of them were indeed discussed during Live TV, radio and Internet broadcast, which lasted for 1 hour and 46 minutes.
But did the president succeed in reaching the hearts and the minds of Nigerians? Some of the best comments by Naij.com readers display the situation best of all:
On Corruption:
“Jonathan said "we all make mistakes"... When asked about corruption in government, mostly regarding the petroleum minister.
“In Nigeria today poor leadership and corruption means making mistake (GEJ's definition), a reader, Oluka Austin Ugochukwu, concluded.
However, some of the Facebook users expressed disagreement with the statement above, tagged it as a
misquote:
“He [Jonathan] only tried to express d imperfection in human beings generally. Some of u hate dis man so much that u see nothing good abt him. Chosing to be a saddist is a very wrong attitude to life. To be fair to this man, can he undo d wrongs of over fifty years within 3yrs?” Naij.com follower, Josephine Egbejule, wrote.
On General Situation In Nigeria:
“mr president ,there is a feeling s of dissatisfaction among all nigerians. its economical, psychological, political & as long as u are incapable of putting your mental powers into action in order to assuage this bitter feelings, then u have failed !this feelings have been there for so long even in the domain of the international community!”, a reader, Emmanuel Dukun, commented.
Nevertheless, a Naij.com fan, Tima Kambau, made a correction to the remark above:
“Corrections you are not satisfied not all nigerians iam a nigerian a northerner from borno askira/uba LGA and satisfied with the GEJ administration and there are more million nigerian like me. Should GEJ declare his intention to contest 2015 election you will be surprised you sentimentalist.”
On The Lingering ASUP, COEASU Strike:
“Asup&Coeasu; Mr.President we polytes ar so much disgraced by the way you hav attempt to address d issue of our strike. I am writing dis with a flew of tears on my face?,” Naij.com fan, Mohd Ismail Auwal, wrote.
Who Is A Better Speaker: The Journalists Or The President?
“Our president excellently did well in the chat to the extent that the journalist present didn't know what to ask him...I saw them shaking their heads in admission of what our presidoo was saying,” a reader, Kelvin King, mentioned in comments.
“Smart approach to these questions... indeed he has a way to turn antagonistic wise ness into foolishness.. i'm proud he's mr President,” another Naij.com follower, Dexter Phoenix Joseph, noted.
However, many believed President Jonathan’s replies were horrible:
“I will like him to visit an intellectual clinic before the next chat,” a reader, Iloanusi Nwachukwu, advised.
To sum up, opinions have split. Reactions may be best described by 50-50 proportion. Let’s hope the government shall intensify its actions in solving the Top problems of the country. God Bless Nigeria
