Alamieseigha, Crucial To Economy – Goodluck Jonathan

he Presidency on Thursday said the former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepriye Alamieseigha, was
responsible for the high volume of crude oil being exported by the country. Speaking while defending the pardon granted the former governor on Tuesday by the Federal Government for his conviction for corruption, the Presidency said that Alamieseigha had also become remorseful after serving his jail term. The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, stated this at a press briefing in Abuja. He said since his release from prison, the former governor had been a major player in making sure that the economy was not grounded. Okupe said, “In truth, Alamieseigha since he left prison has been working strenuously and silently to assist the President stabilise the amnesty in the Niger Delta region.
