President Jonathan picks Zenith Bank MD as new CBN Governor -

Atlast, President Jonathan has moved to replace Sanusi. He picked the current Managing Director of Zenith Bank Godwin Emefiele to replace Sanusi Lamido as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. This development was confirmed by Reno Omokri, the Special Assistant to the President on New Media. His name has been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

Sanusi was removed just a few months to the end of his tenure. His tenure was supposed to end in June 2014. Sanusi said he will challenge the decision to suspend him but will not go back to the job.
