A man accused of storming a home Wednesday saw the tables turned on him as the homeowners beat, kicked, and Tasered the would-be burglar into submission. Michael Maxwell, 19, was allegedly trying to invade and rob a Palm Bay, Florida home with three companions when the victims became the aggressors and Maxwell received a beating he wouldn’t soon forget. Police were called to the home around 1am Wednesday and arrested Maxwell and a 17-year-old companion. They say the home’s occupants were able to fend off the attacks after Maxwell and several other men arrived at the home in a gold Chevrolet Malibu and attempted to storm the home. Maxwell, who works as a tattoo artist, sports a seriously swollen lip in his booking photo. He looks dazed and confused, with one bloodshot eye struggling to stay open for the camera. There is a gash across his puffy nose.

He was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida for treatment. He was then detained at Brevard County Jail Complex in Sharpes, Florida, and charged with home invasion, robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, and four counts of battery.

He was held there in lieu of $51,000 bond. Though Maxwell’s arrest wasn’t the most graceful, it certainly wasn’t the dumbest way to get caught. Just last week, to California men were arrested after one of their cell phones ‘butt-dialed’ 9-1-1 right as they discussed marijuana while allegedly breaking into and stealing items from a car.
