Folorunsho Alakija buys N18.4 billion London property

Nigerian billionaire and the richest woman in Africa, Folorunsho Alakija owns five apartment in London luxury One Hype Park – the world’s most expensive apartment block.

According to American lifestyle magazine, Vanity Fair, in its latest issue out by weekend listed Alakija as one of the apartment owners in the £6,000 per-square-feet One Hype Park. The report is the outcome of a six months long investigation by Zurich basted investigative reporter and expert tax havens, Nicholas Shaxson.


Vanity Fair reported that the five apartments owned by Alajija’s Rose of Sharon 4, a company registered in the Isle of Man were bought for a combined fee of $123million (N18.4 billion). The issue noted most of the apartment owners in the London property have tried to conceal their identities by using entries based in offshore tax havens to buy their homes.

Alakija sits atop The Rose of Sharon Group which comprises, the Roman Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotion Limited and Digital Reality Prints Limited. She is also the Executive vice chairman of Famfa Oil Limited

Other apartment owners at One Hyde Park include owner of Ukrainian football club, Shaktar Donesk, Rinat Akhmetov, Ukraine’s richest man and One Hyde Park’s wealthiest whose property is valued at $215.9m.
