A PASSENGER was forced to stay in the cramped toilet as a British Airways flight sped down the runway and took off.
The female passenger tried to exit the toilet as the plane took off, but flight attendants, who were strapped into their seats, yelled at her to get back inside because it was too dangerous.
The incident occurred on a flight from Schipol Airport in Amsterdam to Gatwick, England, the Daily Mail reports.
The plane had been delayed for around 30 minutes, and passengers believe the crew were in a rush to get going and so did not wait for everyone to be safely seated before taking off.
The woman was stuck in the tiny toilet and not allowed back to her seat until the seat belt sign was switched off.
Other passengers were also standing and still stowing their luggage when the plane began to taxi, witnesses told the Daily Mail.
"As the plane started to accelerate along the runway I heard a commotion at the back of the aircraft," said a witness, who declined to be named.
"A young woman, aged in her early 20s, was trying to come out of the toilet. The crew screamed at her to get back inside as it was extremely dangerous. They only allowed the young woman to come out and return to her seat once the aircraft had reached cruising height."
A crew member was heard reprimanding her, saying "that was extremely dangerous."
Later, as the plane prepared for landing, the pilot issued an in-flight warning telling people the toilets were now out of bounds. Source
