No woman should be left out in National development – Onyeka

ABUJA –The Director General of National Centre for Women Development, NCWD, Onyeka Onwenu, has said women should be carried along in the scheme of things to ensure that the country benefits from their wealth of experience to promote national development.
Onyeka Onwenu who disclosed this at the closing ceremony of a 2-weeks programme on computer and business skills training for the Nigerian woman stressed the need for Nigerians to support and pray for President Jonathan.

Her words: “Women issue covers everything we can think of; no woman should be left out, because every woman is important and has a role to play within her family, community and nation in general towards self actualization for National development.
“Learning to use computer opens the whole world to you and many women had never had access to this kind of education. This is a rudimentary training that gives confidence and also gives the feeling that you can do anything; it gives the basics for instance, if you are a cake designer you can do that with your computer.
“I urge every Nigerian to pray for President Jonathan and his wife because this administration has empowered women in so many ways. Pray for your leaders because when they do well you as an individual will do well too, she added.
The Director, ICT of the centre, Manny Emecheta said the students were taught the complete micro soft suit of applications that comprises of word, excel, power point and also how to make use of the internet.
Emecheta further stated: “The training was funded by the federal government, it is a continuous process and the selection is made randomly from different parts of the country. Source
