Nigerian Society Weddings

Bride

Nigeria is the home of  vast culture and tradition, getting married in Nigeria is one of the most important fulfillment any young woman or man has to under take, that is why the preparations for any Nigerian wedding in any part of the country is always almost ostentatious.
Nigeria is a society that  loves parties, and no party in Nigeria i.e Weddings  is complete without maximum spending, they don’t need to have the  finance for the  wedding or party, if they have to  they normally go to borrow, they will go to any length to give a good party.

What I love about Nigerian weddings is the togetherness it brings, no matter where you are in the world,  no matter who you are or what you are, if a relation is getting married and they are in position to Travel (financially), they most definitely will Travel.
The planning for a Nigerian wedding beats any other, you begin to wonder if spending all this money gives a guarantee “till death do us part”
From the venue to the wedding dress to the interior to the cars to the cards to the little take home gifts from the celebrants are always the best money can buy.
They always bring the best chefs for the food,  if they don’t have the material for the food, then they will fly round  the world’s best chef to do the food, the gifts given to invitees, are out of this world.
Everything about Nigeria wedding is spending, spending and more spending.
There Is always a big competition between the groom and the bride’s family, in spending wanting to know how to out spend the other, you need to be in a Nigerian wedding to see things for your self, in some cases the gift you are given as a guest is less than what they are giving to you in return, Nigerians love their parties. And I love their parties and weddings. By Betty Nwabunike
