In preparation for the 2015 presidential election campaign, former Vice-Presidential Atiku Abubakar has allegedly purchased a $2.5mln jet, Pointblanknews reports citing 'several credible sources'.
One of these sources, reportedly close to Atiku, disclosed that the jet will be used touring Nigerian states for consultations and campaigns.
There have been indications that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), to which the former VP belongs, has settled on a presidential candidate from the North-East.
This makes Atiku from Adamawa State a possible candidature. Sources told Pointblanknews that Atiku is hinging his candidacy on the premise that the North did not conclude its eight-year tenure, which was terminated following the death of late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. Besides,
it was gathered that the former VP has hired the several consultants to help design the best campaign strategy. Atiku's new purchase should come as no surprise as he has been active both in politics and economy for decades. He served in the Nigeria Customs for 20 years retiring in 1989 as a Deputy Director, and his businesses are said to be in several sectors such as oil, education, real estate and agriculture.

If APC fields him as their Presidential candidate they can forget about 2015.
