Police at Ikotun, in Lagos State, are implementing a new strategy of knocking down commercial motorcycle operators, Okada, just to demobilise them and seize their motor-cycles.
A resident, Tuesday, said: “I could not believe my eyes when I saw a Police van hit an Okada rider, who fell down and lay there ostensibly lifeless.
“I thought the Police would give him first aid and take him to the hospital, but I was further shocked when they simply seized the motor-cycle and sped away.

“The Okada rider was abandoned for dead and everybody who saw this incident was angry, with many asking if such brutality was approved by the governor.”
Vanguard called the Governor’s Office yesterday and one of the media aides, who pleaded for anonymity, said the concerned police officers were on their own.
