Justin Bieber is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons after scribbling a disrespectful note in the visitors book at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, Holland.
The pop star visited the tourist attraction where Jewish Frank hid from the Nazis on Friday, prior to a show nearby on Saturday, and took a moment to add his thoughts to the guest book on his way out.
According to staff, the singer showed up with friends and security guards and toured the museum as fans gathered outside.
In a post on Facebook.com, one staff member wrote, "He stayed more than an hour in the museum. In our guestbook he wrote: 'Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber'."
But his note has upset historians and admirers of Frank, whose Holocaust diary became a literary must-read for students of World War Two, and many have taken to Twitter and other social media sites to attack the teenager for his naivete.
Visitors to Anne Frank's Facebook page took aim at Bieber when the story broke on Sunday, with one fan writing, "Glad he went, but, the last sentence is VERY self serving. he missed the lessons of Anne totally," while another added, "She would've been a WHAT? That little idiot is way too full of himself. She's an important historical figure so show some respect."
Another stunned visitor wrote: "Here I thought it was nice of him to go and see the history of her until I read what he wrote. Have some respect Mr. Bieber for she will be famous long after your fame fizzles." Source Yahoo.com
