57 years-old Bash Ali, Nigeria boxing legend, was manhandled by the police after he attempted to see the Minister of sports, Bolaji Abdullahi in Abuja on Thursday June 6th.

According to Nigeria Telegraph, the boxer who is seeking to become the oldest man to hold a world boxing title defense had wanted the defense staged in Nigeria and an audience with president Jonathan who was at the National Stadium to inaugurate "Rhythm 'N' Play". After stating his mission, president Jonathan directed the boxer to see the minister of sports for further discussion on the issue.

However, when he tried to see the sports minister who was at a private luncheon with some celebrities, he was manhandled by the minister's aides and denied audience with the minister.

"There is no respect for the people who should be respected" Ali said, How can I....when all i'm trying to do is lift up my country's name, be assaulted by a bunch of scoundrels all in the name of protecting their master? I was already a world champion when they were in primary school."

Uhm...i'm not sure these people know who to protect their masters at all lol

Former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, today breached President Goodluck Jonathan’s security, walking up to the Nigeria leader at the high table of a wedding party and shaking hands with him.
The occasion was the public wedding reception of a daughter of another former governor, Peter Odili. A security source told Sahara Reporters both the security and protocol of the President were taken aback by Mr. Sylva’s action, as he approached the high table while the president was already seated with other guests, however, they claimed they knew the president was not in any danger.
