Nigeria’s Top Richest Multi-Millionaire Pastors, Their Private Jets and How Much They Are Worth

These days, millions of souls, desperate for financial breakthroughs, miracles and healing, all rush to the church for redemption.

God is good, especially if you’re a Nigerian pastor with some business savvy.

And while the bible expressly states that salvation is free, at times it comes with a cost: offerings, tithes, gifts to spiritual leaders, and a directive to buy literature and other products created by men of God.

Pastors are no longer solely interested in getting people to Heaven; they’ve devised intelligent ways to make good money while reaching out to souls.

Take Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, for example. He is the founder and lead pastor of the Christ Embassy, a thriving congregation with branches in Nigeria, South Africa, London, Canada and the United States.

His publishing company, Loveworld Publications, publishes ‘Rhapsody of Realities,’ a monthly devotional he co-authors with his wife.

It sells over 2 million copies every month at $1 apiece. He also owns television stations, newspapers, magazines, a hotel, a fast-food chain, and more.

Many other Nigerian pastors are similarly building multi-million dollar empires from their churches.

Today, pastors fly around in private jets, drive fancy cars like Daimlers, Porsches and BMWs, don Rolexes and Patek Phillipes, and own breathtaking mansions all over the world.

After the blog post I wrote in May about Nigerian pastors owning private jets, I was bombarded with emails from readers requesting to know the richest pastors in Nigeria.

So I set out to investigate the assets of some of Nigeria’s most prominent pastors, and I came up with conservative estimates of their fortunes.

I contacted representatives for all of the pastors and all except Matthew Ashimolowo’s representative confirmed ownership of the assets I list. Representatives for Pastor Ashimolowo did not respond to my emails.

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, may have returned to his old ways of being in the news for the wrong reasons. He was reportedly arrested in Ghana after being involved in a public fight.

According to Ghanaian media reports, the brawl took place at the Crave Café at Adjiringanor, East Legon, Accra. Going by account given by an eyewitness, Jim who relocated to Ghana after his alleged ‘deliverance’ by Prophet TB Joshua, arrived at the café in a Sports Chevy car to meet with another Nigerian who had earlier arrived in a Range Rover, apparently to wait for the ‘born again’ actor.

Reports have it that the meeting became heated as Jim and the friend argued back and forth over an alleged $10, 000, and the argument later turned nasty which resulted in a fight that spilled out into the street.

It was also gathered that as the fight raged on, Jim entered  his car and was about pulling out something suspected to be a gun, when he was prevented by the gathering crowd, while the other guy dashed off in his car only to surface with some policemen who arrested Jim and took him away.

See how  Justine Sacco, the communications director for InterActiveCorp, better known as IAC based in New York, she landed herself in very hot water by  tweeting  what you see above from an airport in London on her way to board a flight to an African country.

Unfortunately for Ms Sacco she couldn't take the tweet down for hours because she was on a long flight to Africa...by the time she landed several hours later, not only was there an outcry on Twitter, her job was also on the line. The company she works for quickly responded by releasing a statement

“This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC. Unfortunately, the employee in question is unreachable on an international flight, but this is a very serious matter and we are taking appropriate action.” the company said in a statement.

The tweet was deleted late last night (American time) very early this morning (African time). Not only that, Ms Sacco's entire Twitter account has been deleted. There are also reports that she has been fired by IAC. What an ignorant and tasteless statement to make...even as a joke.

Man gets the world’s first artificial heart in ground-breaking operation (PHOTO)

An artificial heart has been transplanted into a patient for the first time in medical history, it was announced today.
French medics said that a male patient was awake and responding well following Wednesday’s ground-breaking operation at the Georges Pompidou Hospital in Paris. Marcello Conviti, head of the Carmat biomedical firm, said: ‘We are delighted with this first implant, although it is premature to draw conclusions given that a single implant has been performed and that we are in the early postoperative phase.’
Mr Conviti said the artificial heart, which is three times the weight of a real one, would beat for at least five years. Heart-assistance devices have frequently been used for patients waiting for transplants, but the new bioprosthetic device will replace the real heart

19 pregnant girls freed in yet another baby factory bust

The police discovered a house in Umuahia, Abia state that housed a total of 19 pregnant women.
Their discovery revealed a baby factory with the women planning to sell their newborns.
Geoffrey Ogbonna, a police spokesman, said that the prime suspect who’ location is currently unknown is the owner of the property and suspected to be in the child trafficking ring.
PMNews reports:

Police “rescued 19 expectant mothers in different stages of pregnancy”, he said.
Southeast Nigeria is grappling with a human trafficking epidemic, with a series of black market maternity homes discovered in the last year.
In most cases, young women have run to such homes to avoid the stigma attached to pregnancies conceived outside of marriage.
They take a portion of the money earned from selling the baby.
There have also been reports of young women kidnapped and forcibly impregnated by 
human traffickers, but such cases are thought to be extremely rare.
Ogbonna said the details of the latest baby factory found in Abia’s capital Umuahia were not immediately clear.
“The proprietress fled before our men got to the place. We met her son and his wife. They are in custody,” he said.

Oprah to blame for Golden Globe snub of ‘The Butler' say cast & crew

In yesterday’s much-anticipated interview with Oprah, Beyoncé finally admitted she was a member of the New World Order, also known as the Illuminati.

Ajudua to be arraigned for defrauding Bamaiyi of $8.39m

Lagos — The absence of a Lagos based lawyer, Mr. Fred Ajudua from court, yesterday, prevented his fresh arraignment before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly defrauding ex- Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Major General Ishaya Bamaiyi of the sum of $8.395m (N1.2bn) while he was in prison.

Expected, Ajudua was to be arraigned on a 13-count charge of conspiracy and fraud alongside Elumile Adedeji (a.k.a Ade Bendel), Kenneth and Princess Hamabon William now at large.

Ajudua alongside other suspects allegedly defrauded Bamaiyi at the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons, where he and the other fraud suspects were remanded.

Ajudua, currently answering various charges bordering on advanced fee fraud pressed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, according to his lawyer, Richard Ahonaruogho, was absent because he was only aware of the matter on Saturday, adding that his client was ill.

How Bishop Oyedepo and D’banj Confronted each other in Church

THE LETTER SAGA: Sheikh Gumi Urges Iyabo Obasanjo To Respect Her Parents

The open letter allegedly written by Senator Iyabo Obasanjo to her father, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has has caused quite a stir among Nigerians, politics and mere mortals alike.
Ever since the letter in question had been revealed to the broad public, speculations have been circulating over its authenticity.
It will be recalled that the former President’s daughter called her father a liar, manipulator and hypocrite, and reminded he that he did not own Nigeria. Ms. Obasanjo accused her father of orchestrating a third term for himself as President, cruelty to family members, abandonment of children and grandchildren, and, also, a legendary reputation of ill-treating women.
An outspoken Kaduna-based Islamic preacher Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Mahmud Gumi has posted some remarks on his Facebook page concerning the arguable topic. Below is the full text of his message.

Obasanjo blasts Vanguard over daughter's open letter

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted in very strong terms over the 11-page letter purportedly written by his daughter Iyabo Obasanjo and exclusively published by Vanguard yesterday where he was described as a liar, manipulator and a woman beater.

A call was put through to the former president yesterday by the editors of Vanguard to hear his side of the allegations leveled against him by his daughter and the conversation went thus:

Vanguard: Sir, we tried reaching you all through yesterday, to no avail, over the letter written by your daughter, Iyabo, to you.

Chief Obasanjo: You are a bloody idiot, you have published the paper and you are now looking for me, you are an idiot, don’t call me again. When Iyabo finishes you in court…. (hangs up).

An Iraqi policeman has sacrificed himself as he tried to protect Shiite pilgrims, embracing a suicide bomber just moments before the man exploded, officials said.
The bomber struck on Wednesday in the Khales area northeast of Baghdad, killing five people and wounding 10, a police colonel and a doctor said.
The colonel said one of the dead was a policeman who had been guarding the pilgrims.
He threw his arms around the bomber just before the attack in a bid to shield others.

Fake South African sign interpreter admitted to a psychiatric hospital

The sign translator at Nelson Mandela's Memorial Service, who was accused of being fake, and making up his own signs, has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital, local media report. 

Thamsanqa Jantjie's wife reportedly took him to a psychiatric hospital near Johannesburg for a check-up on Tuesday December 18th, and the doctors suggested that he be admitted immediately, Johannesburg's The Star newspaper reports.

"The past few days have been hard. We have been supportive because he might have had a breakdown," Mrs Jantjie is quoted as saying.

About two weeks after he wrote an 18-page open letter to President Jonathan, former president Olusegun Obasanjo is now a recipient of an open letter. His daughter, Iyabo obasanjo, has written him an 11-page open latter where she said 'it is the end of her communication with him for life'.

In the letter dated 16 December 2013 and exclusively obtained by vanguard newspaper, Sen. Iyabo Obasanjo described her dad as a liar, two faced hypocrite and a legendary women maltreater. She accused him of beating her mum when they were young and described him as an absentee father and grandfather.

She also said her father is determined to foist on President Goodluck Jonathan what no one would contemplate with him as president. She called him an egoistic craving for power and living a life where only men of low esteem and intellect thrive.
