Bianca Ojukwu's lawyers have written a letter to Femi Fani Kayode asking him to apologize and also retract the statement he made a few weeks ago claiming he dated her many years back or face a lawsuit. In the letter which was published in Thisday today, Bianca said she's never met FFK before! “We have been briefed and our services retained by Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain to demand from you an unreserved apology and a retraction of a false and malicious statement, which you published online and also caused to be published in the Leadership Newspaper of August 16, 2013.

"In the said article entitled, ‘Neither a Tribalist nor a Hater,’ you recklessly alleged, as follows: ‘I was not a tribalist when I had a long standing and intimate relationship with Miss Bianca Onoh…’, a statement, which you know is untrue and unfounded, but only calculated to lower our client’s esteem and damage her national and international reputation.

The Acting Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Garba Umar, lost his first battle to invalidate the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Danbaba Suntai, when he failed to convene a meeting of the members scheduled for Friday morning.
The acting governor had issued a statement reversing the sack of the council and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Gavey Yawe and the Secretary to the State Government.
Suntai had on Wednesday named Timothy Gibon Kataps as the new SSG and as the new chief of Staff replacing Yawe while sacking the Exco members. But on Thursday, Garba asked the people of the stat Governor Danbaba Suntai and Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar Governor Danbaba Suntai and Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umare to ignore the dissolution of the cabinet, alleging that it was masterminded by a
cabal bent on hijacking the state and its resources.

Obasanjo Assures Tambuwal: I Am Behind You!

Contrary to the expectations of President Goodluck Jonathan and his aides who have been accusing Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwa, of associating with their "enemies", Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday took a different stand. He said he is happy and very proud of the way Speaker Tambuwal has been leading the House of Representatives.

In what some say is an open endorsement for Tambuwal's future ambition, Obasanjo said:

A DIVIDED HOUSE: Emergence of Two Governorship Candidates in Anambra State Unsettles PDP

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party is unsettled over the emergence of two candidates for the governorship election coming up in Anambra on November 16, 2013. Specifically, the leadership of the party fears that the development is likely to affect its fortunes in the election.
Saturday PUNCH gathered that the party’s national leaders were battling to resolve the crisis that was caused by parallel governorship primaries in the state.
A member of the National Executive Committee, who confided in our correspondent, lamented that the emergence of two governorship candidates from the two parallel congresses in the party had been a sore point in the party’s preparation for the governorship election.
He referred to the emergence of two governorship candidates of the PDP for the same election in the state, Senator Andy Uba and Mr. Tony Nwoye, as a worrisome development.

Governor Okorocha Denies Legalising Abortion In Imo State

Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo has said that the bill currently in the House of Assembly is not for the legalisation of abortion. Okorocha said this when he reacted to reports that the state government had  legalised  abortion in Owerri on Friday

He explained that the bill would eliminate violence in private and public life, prohibit all forms of violence, including sexual, psychological, domestic and harmful traditional practices.

The governor said the bill was also expected to provide maximum protection and effective remedies for victims and punishments of offenders. Okorocha added that the bill would equally enable every woman to enjoy reproductive rights as well as the right to medical abortion in cases of sexual assault, rape, incest.

Bianca Ojukwu denies dating Femi Kayode-Gives him 7 days to retract his claims

Bianca said  she had never met Fani-Kayode before, either at official or private level, not to talk of having an “intimate” relationship with him.

The ambassador, who spoke through her lawyers, Wall Street Attorneys, has, therefore, threatened to drag the former aide to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo to court if, in the next seven days, he fails to retract his libelous publication against her.

In the letter from her lawyers to Fani-Kayode, dated August 27, 2013 and signed by Mike Ugwuanyi, Esq, Mrs. Ojukwu demanded that the former minister writes an apology and retraction of the said libelous publication in The Sun and Thisday newspapers, as well as publish it in the online publication, where it emanated, in the next seven days or face litigation.

Taraba State Lawmakers to Governor Suntai: "You are Unable to Govern, Return to U.S. for Treatment!"

It has just been announced that Taraba lawmakers decided to ask Governor Danbaba Suntai to go back to the United States to continue his treatment.

Haruna Tsokwa, the Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, speaking on behalf of the lawmakers asked the governor to return to the U.S. to continue his rehabilitation programme and only come back to run his office when he is fully fit.

The Speaker addressed journalists in Jalingo on the morning of August 29, 2013, Thursday.

This address follows the visit of 24 lawmakers to Mr. Suntai on Wednesday night, and their promise to speak out today.

Maria Tsotetsi (49), from extension 28 in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg, SA, says she has an evil snake inside her stomach. She said she has been told by several prophets and traditional healers that the reptile lives inside her.

Maria, who looks pregnant, said she was in hospital in 2011, where the doctors told her she had a growth.

"They told me I had lost blood and they wanted to operate on me but nothing happened after that. The nurses put me on drips but a few days later, they released me."

The 19 year-old lady, Yetunde of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) department was said to have poured hot water on Niyi because he invited other girls and failed to give her adequate attention during the birthday party held at Miracle Hall, BHS area in Iree.

Niyi, a Higher National Diploma (HND II) student of Computer Science department in the institution whose body was mutilated was rushed to the General hospital, Iree for medical treatment and later transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Ikirun town.

North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, publicly executes ex-girlfriend

On August 8th, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was in the audience to applaud his ex-girlfriend Hyon Song- wol (right), a singer with the Unhasu National Orchestra. 9 days later a group of artists were arrested for allegedly making a sex tape. His ex was one of them. They were publicly executed by firing squad on August 20th, while their families were condemned to a labor camp.

The fundamental rights and dignity of female inmates at the Owerri Prison are now being violated following allegations that they are subjected to intimate abuses, which sometimes allegedly result to unwanted pregnancies.

 Although the allegation was denied by the Prison authorities, which described it as unfounded.

 However, it was gathered that some of the female inmates, who were not pregnant at the time of conviction, are been delivered of babies. How then?

 But prison sources said that some of the female convicts were pregnant before they were imprisoned.

This whole Ese Walter and Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo's s*x scandal saga keeps getting messier. Concerned members of the Common Wealth Of Zion Assembly, COZA church have expressed disappointment that their Pastor has not categorically accepted or denied the accusations levelled against him.

However, the pastor who spoke on the accusations in the Sunday service has neither come out to refute or accept the allegation but claimed that when he asked God, God told him to keep quiet, a statement, which his teeming members have described as 'immaterial.' Some members of the church are strongly not in support of his silence rather they want him to come and clear the air.

Many do not know, but Nigeria's Big Brother Africa, BBA, representative in the 2013 edition of the reality show, Beverly Osu has not been feeling well since the last day of the show in South Africa.

According to NET, Beverly was said to have sustained an ankle injury on the finale of the reality show while climbing the stage and I hear the situation was getting more serious than she had thought.

Beverly who returned on Tuesday night was admitted on Wednesday at FaithCity Hospital, Oju Olobun Close, off Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

She is said to be responding to treatment. Fellow housemate Melvin and Uti Nwachukwu were some of the first people to visit her in the hospital.

Right to buy! Lagos State Govt buys back LCC's concession rights in Lekki-Epe Expressway fashola

The Lagos State Government wishes to state clearly that it has neither terminated nor cancelled the Concession Agreement it entered into with the Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) to reconstruct and expand the 49.36 km Eti-Osa Lekki-Epe Expressway.

To set the records straight, Lagos State Government is engaged in buying back the rights pertaining to the concession ahead of the 30-year period stipulated in the Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) Concession Agreement. This is to be achieved by purchasing all the shares in LCC.

The State Government came to this decision to buy back the rights in the light of several developments clearly not envisaged in the 2006 Concession Agreement (which became effective in 2008) a few of which are highlighted below.

LAGOS — Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo, narrowly escaped death, Tuesday night, after he was attacked by gunmen in Festac Town, Lagos.

However, his driver and a Police escort were shot dead by the gunmen.

Policemen from Area ‘E’ on patrol were said to have swooped on the gunmen and engaged them in a gun battle during which two of the gunmen were killed while others escaped.
