Trouble Looms as 4 Robbery Suspects Escape From Police Custody in Delta!

The situation in the Delta State Police Command is tense following the mysterious escape of four suspected armed robbers from detention. The suspects are believed to be the masterminds of most of the crimes perpetrated in Delta State for years running. The gang is believed to have commenced violent operations shortly after the 2011 general elections.

They were arrested recently after a bank robbery at Agbor. The suspects were reportedly nabbed by policemen who acted on a tip-off that the gang was planning another operation. Street Journal gathered that the suspects were detained at the Criminal Investigation Department in the Command’s Headquarters in Asaba, thus making their escape the more unbelievable.
The escape claimed a first victim on Tuesday as the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ayo Ikechukwu Aduba ordered the removal of the head of the command’s Anti-Robbery Investigating Department, ASP Ademola Adebayo.
The ASP could not give a satisfactory explanation to the panel set up to investigate the bizarre escape of the suspects. The PRO of the Command could not be reached for comments as of the time of filing this report. Souce
